I've never seen a service book say 80,000 miles for Haldex. I've seen it suggested on VW forums that 40K is far too long, with one poster strongly saying the oil should be changed every 10K. Reply

When should I service this? - On vehicles with a Haldex Filter (Gen1 & Gen2) it is good practice to replace the oil and the filter at 20,000 mile intervals. - On some vehicles where the Haldex system has a filter from factory, but the main dealers don't sell a replacement (Gen4) it is possible to purchase a filter from ourselves which can help increase the lifespan of the factory pump.

Haldex oil should be changed every 20,000 miles It is on the MK4, but on the MKV the recommended interval is 40k miles although changing it more frequently does no harm.
